Yes we can!
America regained a bit of pride tonight. For the first time in years I feel hopeful about the future!
Senator John McCain gave a VERY needed speech tonight, gracious, eloquent, and well-delivered, saying how the nation needs to come together, to heal, under President Barack Obama.
I cried several times tonight.
Sadly, Republican and fairly open racist Steve King was re-elected to congress over Vietnam veteran and retired minister Rob Hubler. I had hoped for change. But I have hope.
Yes. Yes we can.

I am… elated.
I can’t even be properly bummed about Sheriff Arpaio’s re-election… that’s just how damned happy I am!!!!!!
Change.
Hope.
Love.

i’ve not felt an electricity like this since the 60’s, back before i could even vote, but still had a voice…and love…
Chris, You sound a bit like Lee Greenwood
I’ve said it many times: I’m proud of what we’re supposed to be, what we brag about being and what we usually aren’t.
For those people who think it’s unpatriotic to talk about Jim Crow, to be not proud of interning Japanese Americans, to be disgusted at Joe McCarthy, the Chinese exclusion act and all the rest, for those people I’ve started to fly the flag from my front porch and to wear a flag pin.
This election was a defeat of them and for a lot of ugly things that needed to be defeated and I’m proud as hell that good people got off their butts to me counted.
